Sony VAIO VGN-N27GH Drivers for Win XP

Before you continue downloading the drivers, please remember to unplug hardware components from your notebook computer. Unplug any external Hard Drives, USB components, flash drives, etc. The only cables connected to the notebook should be the power cable and mouse/keyboard. If you have already installed any anti-virus or anti-spyware, please disable it. These security programs may halt the driver-installation. This will open a new window and you should see the Intel website where you will see a table with different listings.
Look for Mobile Intel® 945GM Express Chipset
On right side of this entry, you will see Graphics Driver, Intel Chipset software Installation Utility and Intel Matrix Storage Manager.
You have already found the links for Chipset and Video/Graphics Drivers.
To download the drivers, please follow the instructions...

Chipset Drivers

* Click on 'DOWNLOAD' which is in the column of INTEL CHIPSET SOFTWARE INSTALLATION UTILITY to the right side of Mobile Intel 945GM Express Chipset.
* Select your Operating System (Win XP Home or Win XP Professional) and click GO.
* The next page is the software download page. The first entry is for developers/advanced users. Click on 'DOWNLOAD' for the second entry.
* Click on INF UPDATE UTILITY link, you will get a pop-up to download software. (If you dont get a pop-up, please turn off the pop-up blocker).
* Change the file name to Chipset.exe before saving it. Save it on your desktop so that it becomes easy for you to find the driver files.

Do not install the chipset drivers yet. Go back to the same link ...

Video Drivers

* Click on 'DOWNLOAD' which is in the column of GRAPHICS DRIVER to the right side of Mobile Intel 945GM Express Chipset.
* Select your Operating System (Win XP Home or Win XP Professional) and click GO.
* This time, we will click on 'DOWNLOAD' for the first entry as the second entry is for developers/advanced users.
* Click on INTEL GRAPHICS MEDIA ACCELERATOR DRIVER (EXE) link, you will get a pop-up to download software.
* Change the file name to Video.exe before saving it. Save it on your desktop so that it becomes easy for you to find the driver files.

Once again, do not install the drivers yet, first download all the drivers.

Audio Drivers

To install the drivers for Audio Device on your Notebook, please visit the link ..

Follow the instructions on Intel website to download the driver. It is mentioned NOT to install the drivers until you install the Windows XP Service Pack 2. SO, I would suggest NOT to install the Audio driver right now, Install other components and leave the Audio drivers for last thing to install.
While downloading the driver file, change the name to Audio.exe so that you know which file is which while installing and save the file to your desktop or in a specific folder which you can remember when you begin installation of drivers.

Network Driver

Wireless Internet Connection

* Under the heading Software & Drivers, Click on Download Software.
* Select your Operating System (Win XP Home or Win XP Professional) and click GO.
* Click the 'DOWNLOAD' for the first entry under heading Drivers (Intel Tested).
* Click Intel® PRO/Wireless Drivers-Only for Windows* XP [V11.1.1.0_XP_DRIVERS.ZIP]
* While saving the file, it is recommended to change the file name to Wireless.exe and download the file to your desktop.

Now you have downloaded most of the drivers which are required to run your notebook.

Please install the drivers ONE by ONE and in case if you get instructions to restart your computer, please do so. Restart the computer whenever you are asked to do so.

1. Disable your Anti-virus or Anti-spyware if you have already installed it although it should not be installed before the drivers are installed.
2. Install Chipset.exe and follow on-screen instructions. Restart notebook if required.
3. Install Video.exe (Graphic Driver). Restart your notebook if required.
4. DO NOT install Audio drivers yet. Leave if for the last thing to be installed.
5. Install Ethernet.exe (Ethernet driver). Restart notebook if required.
6. Install Wireless.exe (Wireless driver). Restart notebook if required.
7. Intall the massstorage.exe (Mass Storage Controller driver). Restart if required.
8. Configure your internet connection.
9. Connect to internet and open website www.windowsupdate.com
10. Download and install all the updates, specially Service Pack 2 updates.
11. Do this 3 or 4 times until the Microsoft website informs you No Further downloads available.
12. NOW install the patch that Intel suggested to install before we install the audio driver.
13. Finally, install the audio driver and you should be ready to install other software components like Anti-Virus programs, Anti-spyware programs, MS Office, etc.

Please check your device manager* to ensure all the drivers are installed and in case you see any yellow question marks in device manager, allow us to further assist you to install the missing drivers. Please contact us by filling 'New Assignment Form' in the Assign Task section.

*Device Manager: To open device manager, click on START and then click Control Panel. In control panel, look for icon 'SYSTEM' and click it open. Click Hardware tab on the top and then click Device Manager Button to open device manager.
